(KFVS) - State Auditor Tom Schweich released Department of Revenue (DOR) audits in two Heartland cities on Thursday.
The Farmington office received a Fair rating from the auditor.
Out of 44 vehicle transactions with a credit amount applied, the auditor found three transactions that had no documentation to support the credit.
Taxes for vehicles are based upon the purchase price of the vehicle, minus any credits for selling or trading another vehicle, or if a prior vehicle was declared a total loss.
The Malden office received a good rating from the auditor.
The DOR requires daily receipts to be entered into a system in order to reflect any overages and shortages.
On July 10, there was a shortage of for one of the cash drawers, which was not shown in daily documentation.
The auditor also audited Des Peres, which received a fair rating; Gladstone, which received a good rating and Vienna, which received an excellent rating.
