Brookport Donations: What you need to know

Donations have been coming in all across the heartland --David Searby EMA PIO at Brookport is asking people to stop donating goods.

He asks folks to continue donating money to the Red Cross and other disaster relief agencies, but at this time stop donating stuff.

But city leaders say the overwhelming support from outside help has not gone unnoticed...

"We are fortunate that we have had so many people come in and help us. so many emergincies were here right away. especially like I said, Paducah and neighborhoods here in Illinois and we are just thankful that we have gotten the help that we have gotten," says Brookport Council woman Kathy Tucker

If you would like to donate your time to help with cleaning up a volunteer registration will be held Wednesday - November 20th from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the old Veech's station on route 45 just east of the I-24 exit.

Those still needing a place to stay-can go to the First Baptist Church in metropolis.

They have cots still available for anyone who needs somewhere to sleep.

They are also collecting some supplies-they are asking the public for tubs to bring in to Brookport.
