BOLLINGER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

The Bollinger County Sheriff's Office say they are investigating after a dog was shot with an arrow on Friday.

It happened on County Road 510.

According to Sherry Sullivan, her mixed pit bull dog was outside when her kids discovered the 7-year-old dog was injured with an arrow sticking out of him.

Sullivan came home and took the dog to emergency services where the arrow was removed.

Due to lack of funds, Sullivan says she can only try to take care of her injured pet back to a healthy lifestyle. However, someone has come forward and offered to pay for the dog to be treated at the veterinarian.

She has no clue how the arrow hit the dog, but she wants answers.

If you have any information about the incident, call the Bollinger County Sheriff's Office.
