A man is accused of drinking and driving before crashing into another car on Friday night.
Lywarren Thames of Paducah was charged with DUI aggravated circumstance 1st offense, open alcohol containers in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and wanton endangerment 1stdegree.
Around 7:30 p.m., deputies responded to the 3000 block of Lone Oak Road for a report of a two-vehicle collision with injuries.
Officers say Thames' car hit the rear of a Nissan Frontier driven by Tommy Morreau of Gilbertsville. Morreau was taken by Mercy Ambulance to Baptist Hospital ER with complaints of neck and back pain.
According to the sheriff's office, two empty Absolute Vodka bottles were found in Thames' car.
Officers say Thames smelled of alcoholic beverages and was given field sobriety tests.
After failing the tests, the sheriff's office says Thames told officers he had been drinking and was booked into the McCracken Regional Jail.
