I-24 to be reduced in McCracken Co.

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane at two locations along Interstate 24 in McCracken County on Thursday, November 15.

The short lane restrictions are to allow the Kentucky Transportation Research Center to check concrete surfacing on various bridges and overpasses between I-24 mile point 3.4 and mile point 9.8.

KYTC said drivers should be prepared to encounter lane restrictions along I-24 westbound at the railroad overpass at mile point 3.437 starting at about 8 a.m. on Thursday. Work at this site is expected to take three to four hours to complete.

Once the crew is finished at this first site they plan move to I-24 eastbound at the railroad overpass at mile point 4.339 around noon. Work at this site is expected to take two to three hours to complete.

Drivers should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach these work zones. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers and personnel are on the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
