(KFVS) - One Heartland mom caught a 31-year-old man sending sexual Facebook messages to her 15-year-old daughter.
The woman said she took matters into her own hands and helped put the man behind bars.
"I said who are you talking to? And she said I don't know. I got a friend request. And I said, well, who is it and she said I don't know," the mother, who does not want to be identified, said.
The mother called the things she saw in her teenage daughter's Facebook inbox "scary."
"I took her phone and I started acting as if I was her," she said. "I made arrangements to meet up with him he asked me if I had protection, I said, 'well, no.'"
She said she did what she could to protect her daughter.
"From there I continued to message him and went to the police department and that's when the police took over," she said.
Officers went to the place she'd told the man to meet her daughter while the mother kept the man chatting.
"I asked him to send me a picture," she said. "I said, 'I think I see you.' And he got picked up at 11:59."
Officers took Bradley Hrouda to the Madison County Jail. However, the mom said her fears are yet to be calmed.
"I'm scared to death. How did he find us? Where did he get her information? Is he just randomly picking out little girls on the internet," she asked.
The mother said she's thankful she stepped in when she did.
"Thank Goodness she did trust me enough to say here, you talk to him because I don't know who he is because he could have talked her into meeting up with him another day," she said.
This parent said she was just doing her job.
"We still have to protect them," she said. "That's always been my belief. I will always do that for my daughter."
Hrouda faces charges of age misrepresentation with intent to solicit a minor for sexual misconduct.
