Police looking for strong-arm robbery suspects

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - The Poplar Bluff Police Department is investigating a strong-arm robbery, which was reported at Wal-Mart Supercenter at 300 South Westwood Blvd. in Poplar Bluff.

According to Wal-Mart associates, a Wal-Mart loss prevention associate approached a shoplifting suspect on Tuesday as he left the store carrying merchandise.

When the associate spoke to the suspect, the suspect hit the associate, then pushed him to the ground. The associate received injuries to his head and his foot during this assault.

The suspect dropped the merchandise and fled the scene.

Wal-Mart surveillance video seemed to depict a bystander who picked up the stolen merchandise, and left the store with it.

Police say it is not clear whether the second subject was acting with the first. Police continue to look at video of the incident.

Anyone with information on any of these subjects is asked to contact the Poplar Bluff Police Department at 573-785-5776.
