Murphysboro man arrested in connection with attempted burglary

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

The Murphysboro Police Department went to the McDonald's on 1020 Walnut Street on Wednesday, November 6 around 9:35 a.m. in reference to a report of an attempted burglary and criminal damage to property.

According to police, a white male arrived at the business and was seen on multiple cameras from the business trying to get into the business. It was determined that the suspect was unable to get in after multiple attempts. During these attempts, police say items belonging to the business were damaged by the suspect.

After an investigation, police identified the suspect as Dillon V. Delarre, 21. Police say they found him later in the day and he was arrested on charges of attempted burglary and criminal damage to property.

Delarre was taken to the Jackson County Jail where he will be held for a pending court appearance on both charges.
