Some Heartland veterans returned home after spending the weekend in Washington, D.C. looking at their memorials. The trip marked the first time all 28 veterans saw our national tribute, a tribute they sacrificed so much for. Watch Heartland News at 10 when Todd Tumminia will have more with them.

A Doniphan man has been accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend in the head Friday night. Officers say Curtis E. Ellis admitted to shooting Loretta O'Neal in the head with a homemade "zip gun" that can shoot a .22 caliber bullet.
A Fredericktown man faces felony charges after allegedly digging up a burial site in St. Francois County. In February 2012, Ronald Twomey was laid to rest in a cemetery in Bismarck. Family members say for almost two years they've been coming to the grave site to mourn the loss of their brother. It wasn't until about a month and a half ago that they found out he wasn't there. They say working out does the body good, but a new study says it might not be all good for your relationship with your partner. The study suggests getting in shape might lead to the downfall of that relationship if both of you aren't all-in on the weight loss transition. Allison Twaits took at the study and asked people at a Marion gym if weight loss impacted their relationship.

A suspicious fire is under investigation in Dexter. According to the Dexter Police Department, a four-wheeler was set on fire at a home on South Sassafras Street early Sunday morning. Police say the fire burned down part of the home and damaged other property.
Crews began demolishing the Egyptian Revival Day Spa Monday, Nov. 4 after flames ripped through it last year. The day spa, located along Rte. 13 between Herrin and Carterville, caught fire in July 2012.
