JACKSON, MO (KFVS) - The Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a Jackson school bus was shot.
School officials called the sheriff's office on Monday after finding two holes in the outer skin of the bus that appear to have been cause by a firearm.
The sheriff's office does not know if any children were on the bus at the time or if it was empty when the damage occurred.
Projectiles are being examined for ballistic information.
This particular bus ran west on Hwy. 72 in the Millersville area and beyond.
It is possible that the bullets were fired accidentally or randomly, according to the sheriff's office.
Anyone with information about the bus damage is asked to call the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office at 573-243-3551.
