MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Two men are facing charges in connection to a home invasion in Carlisle County where a man was stabbed and shot in western Kentucky on October 3.

Kentucky State Police say Robert H. Morrison, 41 of Benton and Donald G. Thorn, 38 of Gilbertsville were charged with robbery 1st degree (class b felony) and assault 1st degree (class b felony). They were booked into the Marshall County Detention Center with a $100,000 cash bond each.

The Paducah Police Department, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office and the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team assisted with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

According to KSP on October 3, two white men armed with a handgun and knife got into the home overnight wearing ski masks and demanded money and property from the homeowner, Edward L. Wallace, 36, of Arlington, Ky.

Wallace tried to disarm one of the suspects and was stabbed a number of times and was shot once. The two men then fled the home in an unknown direction of travel.

Wallace was transported to Jackson Purchase ER in Mayfield and was later taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt, Hospital in Nashville for medical treatment.

During the investigation, KSP found 4.7 grams of methamphetamine and marijuana from the Wallace property. KSP believes this attempted robbery was an isolated incident.
