A man is facing a burglary charge out of McCracken County. It happened in 2012.
Jesse J. Rucker, 24, of Murray was charged Wednesday with burglary 2nd degree and theft by unlawful taking over $500.
According to the sheriff's office, on April 26, a woman reported a burglary to her home on Watson Road.
The woman told officers when she returned home from work, she found that a rear window in her home had been broken out. After searching the home, the woman said $6000 worth of items had been taken, including several pieces of jewelry, a laptop computer, and a chainsaw.
Deputies collected evidence from the scene, which appeared to contain blood left by the suspect.
As the investigation, continued Rucker became a suspect and his DNA was collected for comparison against the blood evidence.
After sending the blood and DNA to the Kentucky State Police Laboratory for testing, it was determined the blood left at the scene of the burglary belonged to Rucker.
Rucker was booked into the McCracken Regional Jail.
