2 injured in Ava wreck

AVA, IL (KFVS) - Two women were injured after a wreck in rural Ava, Illinois.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, it happened around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday on Route 4 near Tanner Road.

Deputies say the Pontiac Grand Prix was southbound when it lost control and left the road. The driver overcorrected and skidded across the road before going down an embankment and overturning.

Cassandra Study, 33 of Sparta and Vicki Rae Cook, 47, of Coulterville were taken by EMS to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The sheriff's office is investigating the crash.

Jackson County Ambulance and Ava First Responders assisted with the crash.
