So far this season, all of our Hi-Fives have gone to high school football players in the Heartland. But this week we head to the college ranks.
The honor goes to Southeast Missouri State sophomore quarterback Scott Lathrop.
He made his second start in a thrilling 37-34 triple overtime win over arch rival Murray State.
Lathrop led the Redhawks to their first victory by completing 19 of 32 passes for 247 yards and four touchdowns.
He also carried the ball 24 times for 94 yards and another score.
Lathrop is the first SEMO quarterback to throw 4-touchdowns since 2007.
He talked about making the most of his chance as the starter.
"It's all I wanted all week once they told me I was going to start," said Lathrop."I was just focused on coming out and getting this win and showing what I could do with these guys."
Lathrop and the Redhawks visit 3rd ranked Eastern Illinois Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
