MEMPHIS, TN (KFVS) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Memphis District's regulatory office has been forced to close its doors because of the government shutdown.
The USACE announced Tuesday that they will be closing all of its Regulatory Office since there is no federal funding.
There have been 11 workers furloughed.
The offices will not be able to evaluate individual permit applications, pre-construction notifications (PCN) for nationwide permit (NWP) or regional general permit authorizations or requests for jurisdictional determinations until they get federal funding.
If there is an emergency in waters or wetlands that requires the USACE under the Clean Water Act or the Rivers and Harbors Act, please call Tonya Acuff, Regulatory and Environmental Compliance Program Manager, Mississippi Valley Division at 601-634-5821.
