Man shot by stepson in Imperial

IMPERIAL, MO (KFVS) -

A man was shot by his stepson Sunday after a physical altercation in Jefferson County.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, around 3:15 deputies responded to the 3400 block of Henry Drive in Imperial.

Once on the scene, deputies located a 49-year-old male victim with a gun shot wound in the abdomen.

The victim, whose name was not given in the press release from the sheriff's office, said he and his stepson had been in a verbal fight that turned physical.

The victim identified his stepson as 32-year-old Nicholaus Lohrum of Imperial.

During the altercation, Lohrum shot a pistol and hit the victim who was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Lohrum was charged with first degree assault.

He was taken to the Jefferson County Jail on $75,000 bond.
