CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The United Way of Southeast Missouri launched a new program in hopes of helping people out of poverty.
Monday, the United Way hosted a meeting to tell potential "navigators" about the program.
The navigators work with those in need by helping them find jobs, housing, and anything else they can a long the way.
The founder of the program says it can change lives for the better, both those who help and those who receive it.
"Our navigators say unanimously they get way more out of this program than they give," said Donna Beegle, a found of the program. "There's nothing that can give you the feeling of making a difference for another human being. There's not a car or a piece of jewelry or a trip."
