ALTO PASS, IL (KFVS) - Cardinal nation was on hand at the Bald Knob Cross Saturday afternoon in Alto Pass during this year's Gospel Fest.
The keynote speaker was none other than former Cardinals pitcher Andy Benes.
Benes shared his story of how his personal life was spiraling out of control, all while striking out some of Major League Baseball's hall of framers.
Then he talked about how his faith saved his baseball career, but most importantly his life.
"I worked my whole life to play Major League Baseball, but i still wasn't ultimately satisfied," said Benes. "It wasn't until the Lord gave me the gift of faith in Jesus Christ. It has truly fulfilled me."
Benes also shared some of his more memorable moments of his career, and then he stuck around for pictures and autographs.
