Murphysboro men sentenced to prison

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - Two Murphysboro men have been sentenced to prison on separate crimes.

According to Jackson County State's Attorney Michael Carr, Robert "Bobby" Moutria, 25, was charged in Jackson County circuit court with burglary, and pleaded guilty pursuant to a plea agreement. He was sentenced to serve an extended eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Mourtria was accused of a burglary on Feb. 3 at 17th Street Warehouse. Forensics were able to pinpoint footprints in the snow to Mouria's shoes.

Carr says Benjamin Wright, 28, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery outside of Da-Nite Tavern.

Wright was sentenced to five years in prison with a mandatory four year supervised release term.

He was accused of hitting his ex-wife in the face at the bar on Aug. 3. The woman received a broken nose, loose teeth and glass shards in her skin when he broke out a vehicle's window she was in.
