Metropolis McDonald's damaged in fire

METROPOLIS, IL (KFVS) - The McDonald's restaurant in Metropolis was damaged after a fire on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 2:45 p.m.

According to Metropolis Fire Chief Jason Morris, a maintenance worker was in the attic using a torch and the fire started in the attic and burned a hole in the roof.

There was light smoke and damage inside the restaurant. The worker got a minor injury on his hand.

The restaurant will be closed for a couple of days for cleanup.
