(KFVS) - The only direct route connecting Kentucky and Missouri will be shut down Wednesday.
The Dorena-Hickman Ferry will be closed for several hours Wednesday, Oct. 9 for maintenance.
The ferry will open again around 1 p.m.
The Dorena-Hickman Ferry will also reduce its winter operating hours starting Sunday, Oct. 13.
The last run out of Kentucky will be at 5:15 p.m. and the last run out of Missouri will be at 5:30 p.m.
The Dorena-Hickman Ferry connects KY 1354 at Hickman, Ky., with Missouri Route A and Route 77 near Dorena, Mo. It is the only direct route between the two states.
The ferry operates from the Hickman Landing with regular river crossing during daylight hours. It holds vehicles up to 30 feet long and is $14 for larger trucks, motor homes and vehicles pulling trailers.
