DIEHLSTADT, MO (KFVS) - The Scott County sheriff says a woman is facing meth related charges after an investigation.

Evelyn Vanwinkle, 49, of rural Diehlstadt was charged with attempting to manufacture a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Rick Walter says investigators learned that Vanwinkle was using and manufacturing methamphetamine at her home on Highway 77 outside of Diehlstadt.

While a deputy was at Vanwinkle's home to investigate the allegations, the officer found items associated with making meth inside a burn barrel, according to Sheriff Walter.

The sheriff says investigators applied for and got a search warrant for the home before deputies found a number of utensils, chemicals and paraphernalia commonly present at an active methamphetamine lab.

Investigators also found a number of items that contained a white powder that tested positive for methamphetamine, according to Walter.

Vanwinkle was taken to the Scott County Jail. Bond was set at $50,000.
