Tonight on Heartland News at 9 and 10 Todd Tumminia will have more on recent research that shows the New Madrid fault zone may be more dangerous than other areas of the country.

President Barack Obama spoke today and said a government shutdown will slow a recovering economy, but his healthcare plan will move forward despite efforts to defund it, including one proposal that would delay funding for one year.

With the government on the brink of a shutdown, many people are asking, "how will this affect me?" Kadee Brosseau looked into the different ways it may affect you, but says the good news is that it probably won't affect you too much. You can click here for her story.
