Ducks fall from sky to encourage reading

MARION, IL (KFVS) - Six hundred plastic ducks

dropped from the sky Monday at Lincoln Elementary School in Marion.

Students from kindergarten to fifth grade picked up a duck which had different genres of books written on them.

This is intended to help encourage children to want to read.

Two teachers received a grant for $2,900. The grant allows them to access an online library which has tests for the books students read.

Students will be allowed to see how they score, how many words they have read, and see areas where they need to improve upon.

Black Diamond Harley Davidson partnered with the school and dropped the ducks out of its helicopter.
