Hydroplaning causes head on crash in Graves Co.

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says there is an investigation into a head on crash on Jackson Purchase Parkway.
It happened Sunday shortly before 10:50 a.m. at the 15 mile marker, just north of Wingo.

Sheriff Redmon says a vehicle driven by Dianthony Woods, 26, of Paducah, lost control due to hydroplaning. Wood's vehicle began sliding and then went through the median and into the opposite lanes of traffic.

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Wood's vehicle then hit a car driven by Laura Greene, 30, of Holland, Ohio,  head on.

Both vehicles then struck the railing on the shoulder of the road. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

Greene had her 3-year-old son in a child seat in the rear of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

There is no word on the extent of injuries.

The crash is being investigated by the sheriff's office.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Kentucky State Police.
