Paducah man hospitalized after motorcycle crash

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A Paducah man was listed in critical condition after a motorcycle crash on Saturday.

It happened shortly after 3:15 p.m. in the 400 block of Said Road.

An investigation showed Gary Haney, 48, of Paducah, was traveling northbound on his Harley Davidson and failed to negotiate a curve in the road.

His motorcycle then left the right side of the road. Haney was unable to regain control of the motorcycle and was thrown. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of this collision.

Haney was taken by EMS to a local hospital and was listed in critical condition.

Deputies say based upon eyewitness statements, speed is believed to be a contributing factor, and alcohol is expected to be a factor in the crash.

Due to his condition, Haney was cited to court for the following charges: operating motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and driving on dui suspended license.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by Reidland Fire Department and Mercy Regional Ambulance Service.

Part of Said Road was closed for around 50 minutes for investigation and clean up.
