CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

We told the second grade class at Nell Holcomb School in Cape Girardeau that we were doing a story on them. That was kind of true, it was more of a story on one of their classmates, McKenna Hopkins.

Hopkins father, Luke, just returned home from Afghanistan after serving as a vehicle commander in the US Navy.

"Well if I knew what heaven was like it would be like this," Luke Hopkins said.

"I'm just glad we are a family of four again," Amber Hopkins said.

Luke Hopkins said this was his fourth deployment and by far his hardest one.

"I just wanted to see my girls," Hopkins said.

Hopkins said his three girls kept him going while he was gone and now he's enjoying every moment he can with them in person.
