1 injured in motorcycle crash in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - One person was injured in a motorcycle crash Sunday in McCracken County.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, the crash happened in the 3700 block of Husbands Road.

Once on the scene, deputies found that David Young, 33 of Paducah, was driving his motorcycle north and failed to make a curve in the road.

The motorcycle then laid on its side and slid into oncoming traffic.

Young and the motorcycle then hit a SUV that was driving south and slid under the vehicle until it was trapped.

Reidland and Hendron fire departments responded and worked to free Young.

After about 20 minutes, Young was freed and taken to Lourdes hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

It was later learned he had been flown to a Lexington hospital for further treatment.

Young was wearing a helmet.

It was determined by authorities that improper control and speed contributed to the crash.
