This is an effort to provide our viewers with important programming information and breaking news.

You have options on how you receive your push notifications.

We offer push notifications from our app and several options for text alerts.

We send out push alerts, which are less intrusive than text messages as they can be turned off and customized to alert you in different ways. Push alerts are designed to include breaking news and programming alerts. We are expanding the use of our push alerts to encompass alerts regarding programming and to provide an enhanced news experience for our viewers.

You can customize the push notifications from our news app without uninstalling the app.

You can also receive severe weather text alerts by texting "storm" to 91212.

  • The viewer will receive a bounceback message asking for the name of the county. Frequency varies, up to 5 per day, per selection
  • Do not text in the name of the city. If you live in a county with two words, text that county altogether without spaces. For example: capegirardeau or stegenevieve.
  • Since we have two Perry counties in the Heartland, those who text "perry" will receive another bounceback asking for either "perryil" or "perrymo".

You can sign up for daily forecast texts by texting "weather to 91212. Those go out about 6:55 a.m. CT every morning.  1 message per day delivered at 7 AM local time.

If you would like only breaking news texts, you can text "news" to 91212 to receive breaking news text alerts. Frequency varies, up to 5 per day
