Cardinals beat Rockies to add to first place lead

ST. LOUIS (KFVS) - Cardinals Pitcher Adam Wainwright pitched into the 8th and also added three hits to lead first place St. Louis to a 3-2 win Wednesday night over the Colorado Rockies.
With the win and the Pirates loss, St. Louis increased it's first place lead to two games over Pittsburgh.
Yadier Molina set a single season Cardinals record for doubles by a catcher with his 41st.
St. Louis 1st baseman Matt Adams left the game early with right elbow soreness.

    Mookie Betts lined a two-run double off the left-field wall with two outs in the ninth inning, capping a three-run rally that lifted the Boston Red Sox to a 5-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night.
