Crews are searching for a man after a boat hit a barge on the Mississippi River in New Madrid County. According to authorities, Christopher A. Wescoat, 27, of Matthews is missing. At this time, there is no word on what caused the crash.

Teachers first discovered mold at Clippard Elementary School when they were getting their rooms ready for the school year more than a month ago. At the time, school officials told Heartland News it was surface mold and had been taken care of, however staff members at the school say they found mold as recently as last week. The family of an 83-year-old New Madrid woman missing since late August is offering a $25,000 reward in hopes of her safe return. The family is offering the reward for any information leading to the safe return of Barbara Stoffer, or the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible in her disappearance.
