GALLATIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A Hardin County teenager is facing DUI charges after a crash Saturday morning in Gallatin County, Illinois.
According to Illinois State Police, it happened shortly before 9 a.m. on Shawnee Forest Road, just south of Salt Well Road.
Troopers say the 17-year-old from Elizabethtown was driving her car southbound on Shawnee Forest Road when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road just south of Salt Well Road. The car left the east side of the road, hit an embankment and overturned.
The driver was treated at the scene by Gallatin County Ambulance before being transported by Life-Flight to an Evansville hospital. Troopers say she was wearing a seat belt during the crash.
The 17-year-old faces charges of DUI, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage.
