A Russian plan for Syria to turn over its chemical weapons to avert Western missile strikes bogged down today when Moscow rejected U.S. and French demands for a binding U.N. resolution with "very severe consequences" for non-compliance.
Amid the growing tensions over how to handle the use of chemical weapons in Syria, President Barack Obama will take his message directly to Americans, laying out his vision tonight on network TV, beginning at 8 p.m. central time.

Worldwide Suicide Prevention Day was celebrated today to raise awareness and recognize those who have been affected by someone they know who died of suicide. Laura Matlock of Cape Girardeau created the walk and hosts it every year to help raise awareness and help others in need.
