Redhawks fall to Ole Miss despite strong second half

(KFVS) - The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks fell to 1-18 all-time against Football Bowl Subdivision teams after their 31-13 loss Saturday night to Ole Miss. The Redhawks were paid a school-record $375,000 to travel to Oxford, Miss.

Southeast started sophomore Scott Lathrop at quarterback instead of the banged-up Kyle Snyder. Lathrop completed 16-24 passes for 159 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Lathrop also ran for 26 yards.

SEMO fell behind 31-0 in the first half thanks to Ole Miss's offensive attack. The Redhawks outscored the Rebels 31-13 in the second half though to make things competitive.

Ron Coleman led the way with 45 yards rushing. D.J. Foster and Spencer Davis both caught TD passes.

The Redhawks are off next week before traveling to Busch Stadium to play Southern Illinois on Sept. 21.
