2 injured in ambulance crash

WAYNE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - 2 people were injured when an ambulance crashed in Wayne County, Mo.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 6:05 p.m. on US 67, just south of county road 541.

Troopers say David Ross, 27, of Piedmont was driving south when he lost control, ran off the side of the road, then hit an embankment before coming to a stop in the median.  The ambulance was totaled.

Ross was not hurt, but two passengers had moderate injuries.  Michael Irions, 34, of Patterson, was flown to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.  Harry Shearer, 73, of Patterson, was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
