Police investigate armed robbery in Dyersburg

DYERSBURG, TN (KFVS) -

Police are investigating a bank robbery in Dyersburg Thursday.

According to the Dyersburg Police Department, the First Citizens National Bank at 200 West Court Street in Dyersburg was robbed at 11:17 a.m.

Bank employees reported that a black male armed with a handgun, approximately 6’, 170 to 190 pounds, wearing a white shirt, white hat, and carrying a large cane, robbed one of the bank tellers and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police remained on the scene for more than two hours processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation was notified and is working with police investigators.
