Thursday is Go Orange Day.

Food banks across the nation are asking folks to wear orange to help raise awareness about hunger in their communities.

September is Hunger Action Month. Food banks across the country have designated the first Thursday as Go Orange Day to help build awareness about hunger in the community.

Kristen Canter with the SEMO Food Bank says they are always looking for people to host food drives and for donations.

The SEMO Food Bank has the Party for the Good at the Osage Centre Friday where they will be packing bags for the Backpacks for Friday program from 9 a.m. To 7 p.m.

Folks are asked to register online at semofoodbank.org.
