MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) - A western Kentucky man is facing charges after state police say they found a marijuana grow operation.

Michael L Burgess, 49, of Fancy Farm was charged with cultivating in marijuana (5 Plants or more) first offense, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violating a Kentucky emergency protective order.

Around 4 p.m. on Thursday, Kentucky State Police issued a search warrant at a home on State Route 1748 West in Graves County.

During a search, state police say they found a marijuana grow with an estimated street value of $5,000, along with processed marijuana, drug paraphernalia and several guns.

State police took him to the Graves County Detention Center. He was being held on $10,000 bond.

The investigation is continuing, according to state police.

Kentucky State Police was assisted with the warrant service by the Mayfield Police Department.
