2 injured after motorcycle hits deer in Wayne County, Mo.

WAYNE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Two people were injured after the motorcycle they were on collided with a deer in the road in Wayne County, Missouri.

It happened around 7:10 p.m. Saturday on MO 143 at Sam A. Baker State Park, just north of  Campground 1.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, after the southbound motorcycle hit the deer, the motorcycle went off road and down into a revine, throwing the driver and passenger.

Troopers say Robert, L. Barton, 38, of Middle Brook, Mo., and  Constance Stellhorn-Schnanter, 51, of Sparta, Illinois received moderate injures and were taken by EMS to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.

Both were wearing a helmet at the time of the wreck, according to troopers.
