ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The reason for a house fire is under investigation in St. Francois County.
According to Desloge Fire Chief Larry Gremminger, the fire broke out at 403 Jackson Street Saturday around 2:30 a.m.
When crews arrived on the scene, the entire front part of the house was engulfed in flames.
Crews knocked down the flames quickly, but battled smoldering in the inside walls and attic.
Gremminger believes this home was being renovated and not lived in at the time.
The Park Hills and Big River Fire Departments assisted with the fire.
The fire is under investigation by the state fire marshal's office.
The owner of the house said she and her husband were fixing up the inside of the house.
She is suspicious of how it happened and believes a "flame bomb" may have thrown at the house by someone.
