Du Quoin State Fair: Zip Line

DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) -

There’s a new attraction, getting a lot of attention-the zip line. If you’re going to take a ride, first they’ll clip on a harness.

"It's totally safe, it's won every award in the industry, for safety, it's a 5 point harness which holds you in 5 different positions, you do not even have to hold on if you don't want to, you can go down no handed," said Don Malott with Zip Line Zone Extreme Zip Line.

You’ll then take the long walk along the course, up the stairs to the top.

To fly down the ride, it costs $10. You can even go down with a friend.

There’s no age limit, just weight restrictions, between 45 and 250 pounds.

"It’s been a great thing for most people, there's been a couple little kids that were scared," said Malott.

For kids that might be scared, they five them a cape to wear down the line.

"The reaction has been huge, it's gone over very well,” said Malott.

They even said the ride can help fair goers cool down in the extreme heat.
