Events planned in the Heartland to remember March on Washington

Several events in the Heartland will be held Wednesday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.

St. James AME Church in Cape Girardeau will host a commemorative program in honor of the march and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.

The program will begin at 7 p.m. at the church at 516 North Street in Cape Girardeau.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Ron Webb, pastor of Mount Calvary Powerhouse Church.

The Paducah, Kentucky middle school is also planning an assembly and a march Wednesday to commemorate the event.
