MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) -

Deputies say a man is facing burglary charges out of Graves County, Kentucky.

Jon A. Arant, 22, was charged Saturday with burglary second-degree.

The investigation began when a sheriff's deputy responded to a reported burglary at a home on KY408 West on August 13, according to Sheriff Dewayne Redmon.

The homeowner told officers that a paint sprayer was stolen from his home.

Deputies say the suspect had gotten into the home through a back window.

Officers then learned that a sprayer matching that description was pawned at the Cash Express Pawn in Paducah on August 14.

Deputy Richard Edwards met with the owner of the pawnshop and got back the paint sprayer.

Deputies were able to identify Arant as the person who had reportedly pawned the sprayer.

Shortly after midnight on August 24, Deputy Edwards found Arant in Mayfield and interviewed him about the burglary.

Arant was taken to the Graves County Jail on $5,000 bond.
