PINCKNEYVILLE, IL (KFVS) - Murder charges have been dropped against a man who was accused in a Pinckneyville teen's murder.
Murder charges against Chad Bennett in Perry County, Illinois were dismissed, according to Bennett's attorney at Drew & Drew, P.C.
A nolle prosequi ruling has been made in the case of Bennett who was previously charged with the murder of Pinckneyville teen Sidnee Stephens, according to the Perry County Courthouse.
A nolle prosequi ruling means "not to wish to prosecute."
Bennett had faced charges of murder, aggravated kidnapping, and concealment of a homicidal death in connection with 15-year-old Sidnee Stephens' death.
Stephens' body was found by two fishermen in Beaucoup Creek in July 2010.
Three other teenagers have already been charged and convicted in her murder.
