4 facing drug related charges in Franklin County

BENTON, IL (KFVS) -

The state's attorney says four people are facing drug related charges in Franklin County.

According to State's Attorney Evan Owens, the Franklin County Grand Jury returned bills of indictments on August 16 against Daniel J. Schmechel, Cindy A. Schmechel, Dorothy A. Williams and Erin L. Williams. 

The indictments accuse that they unlawfully delivered and possessed controlled substances or controlled substance analogs between August 2012 and August 2013 in Franklin County, according to the state's attorney's office.

Daniel Schmechel and Cindy Schmechel each posted $15,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court on September 3.

Dorothy Williams and Erin Williams each posted $2,000 bond. Dorothy Williams is scheduled to be in court on September 3. Erin Williams has a August 27 court date.

Officers with the Benton Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff's Office, West City Police Department and Illinois State Police were involved with the investigation.
