City of Cape Girardeau looking for input on nuisances

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The City of Cape Girardeau is asking folks for their opinion on nuisances around town.

The city posted an online survey that anyone is welcome to fill out. The city is hoping to get public input to help determine the focus of changes to cape's nuisance ordinance.

Nuisances are anything that is considered obnoxious, unhealthy, dangerous or offensive to the public.

The survey asks what you think the city needs to pay extra attention to when it comes to issues like drugs, run-down buildings, junk vehicles, vandalism, trash, weeds, graffiti or noise. City leaders say the effort is in response to public outcry for nuisance control in cape.

The city will hold a public hearing on August 28th at 6:00 at the Osage Center.

The city will accept online surveys through the end of the month. To learn more or fill out the online survey click here.
