TRC expands Sikeston campus

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Three Rivers College has seen record enrollment in recent years and now they're expanding to make room for more students

The college broke ground on a new eastern campus in Sikeston last week.

The new campus will allow the college to offer more classes, educate more students, and increase workforce training.

School leaders say they've planned for future expansion with the new campus.

"We're setting it up for the anticipated future technology growth," said Missy Marshall, director at the Sikeston center. "So we will have in classrooms, we may not have laptops or computers in there right now. But we're gonna wire them for the future growth."

The 36,000 square-foot building has a price tag of about $7 million.

The new Sikeston eastern campus is expected to be ready for students in 2014.
