Kane's Krusade raises money to dogs in need

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

A local nonprofit organization focused on dogs held its biggest fundraiser of the year on Sunday, as Kane's Krusade hosted its second annual Kane's Cookout at King Phillip's Stockade.

The mission of the organization is to improve the quality of life for dogs in the greater Springfield area.

The group is only one and a half years old, but they have already assisted with 30 dogs.

Kane's Krusade's founder told CBS 3 that the organization helps with a variety of issues.

"We provide food, spade and neuter, vaccinations and we even have a small medical fund," said Kim George.

Not only does the group help treat dogs, but they also conduct awareness campaigns to educate the public on dogs that are misunderstood by society.
