JACKSON, MO (KFVS) -

The City of Jackson hosted the 33rd Annual Knights of Columbus State Horseshoe Tournament.

Organizers estimate about 3,000 people made their way to the tournament that had 585 teams competing.

There were eight men divisions and four female divisions.

Players say the best part of about the tournament is the money goes to a good cause.

"It's great," Jason Pashia said. "I get to play with my brother and the money goes to a good cause."

Pashia and his brother say that strategy is secondary in something like this.

"The strategy is throw our shoes," Pashia said. "Our grandpa he is really good and he tried to teach us a little bit but we are hard-headed so we throw our shoes."

The event lasted the entire weekend.
