East Prairie house fire called total loss

EAST PRAIRIE, MO (KFVS) -

No one was  injured, but a family pet did die in a house fire in East Prairie Thursday night.

According to East Prairie Fire Chief Kyle Hutcheson, they received a call of a house fire at the 400 block of North Kirkendall around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 15.

Hutcheson said they were on the scene of the fire for two-and-a-half hours and called it a total loss. He said no one was home at the time of the call and the cause is undetermined, but not suspicious.

The Red Cross was called to help the family.
